Alrighty! after spending the good most of a day pouring over chip pinouts from ic companies. I'd like to quote the caption from one of our VK member's avatar pic....... It's A Cap!
This set uses a AN5156K as it's "Jungle" chip which feeds a AN5532 vertical output chip. the fault was a 22mf cap that shorted and was feeding 2.7 volts DC along with the sawtooth signal. the cap read 273 ohms out of circuit. Yay! Thanks Zeno for the advice, I guess sometimes you use whatever parts of a schematic you can find if you can't find the real thing!
Oh by the way. Don't let a little 5" crt fool ya. I discharged it before pulling the tube out of the chassis. The sound of the discharge was ALOT louder than i ever would have imagined. Glad it didn't discharge into me!
