I must say, editing with this camera has actually been easier with a Linux machine than a Mac.
Using Linux and the editor Kdenlive (which is what I used to edit the clip in the original post), really was much easier. OS X seems to have more issues with this camera, as time moves on, because you can't even explore the folders properly, and QuickTime has a fit if you didn't pay for pro. Linux had none of these issues.
Only quirk with Kdenlive is, you really should use Kubuntu, and not Ubuntu, Lubuntu, or Xubuntu. It seems to crash a lot with them, Kubuntu is the best for it.
