Ok so I think I may have found a suitable replacement slug, but I still have some questions before I re-install the IF transformer. My main concern is the fact that the replacement I found has the slot adjustment. My main concern with using this type in place of the hex style is the possible tuning frequency range differences caused by the slot slug having more ferrite mass than the hex slug. Would it really cause any issues when aligning the set? Keep in mind the slot slug will be paired with a hex slug in the transformer I am dealing with since it is a two "slugged" coil. What do you guys think?
