That's a cool graphic....If I'm interpreting it right then TV stereo and SAP are implemented in essentially the same way as FM radio MPX stereo and SCA. Basically FM modulate an audio signal that contains an ultrasonic pilot tone and the difference signal AM modulated on an ultrasonic carrier. With SAP and SCA implemented similar to the difference signal only higher into the ultrasonic/low RF range.
I know in MTS stereo they used the columbia CX noise reduction system. CX was designed for LPs but failed in that market but was used in CED, and survived the century in TV MTS stereo and as a standard in LD audio tracks.
