One thing to look for on ALL of these convertible RCA/Hit VCR's...
The BOTTOM COVER.....have screw hole rings....which tend to CORRODE against the Circuit board...causing a BUNCH of weird symptoms...
Look at the board and the area around where the bottom cover hits the board. If you see corrosion on traces near the screw holes...You DO have a problem. This was a problem OVER 20 years ago...and likely has NOT improved with age...
