I am also enquiring about the origin of the 7 x 9 dot matrix font that was on many a Tektronix color bar generator, with the characters scrunched up to look thinner. Here's what I could gauge on their alphabet. It wouldn't be Atari, that I know.
(Those that are blank, other than the space on the top most left, I have no idea how the characters in this set are shaped.)
