Wheaton Radio Meet

Anyone score any goodies at the meet.
I'm having problems getting up early lately, plus it was Father's day and I was invited to my families F/D get together.

I sold more volume than I bought. Was hoping to make some money to buy something I want, but my 4 big ticket items stagnated (the only interest wanted them cheap enough that I rather keep them). Between that and not being able to take the test to upgrade my Ham license I'd practically call the meet a bust (as far as my objectives for going)...It was also smaller this year than last, the back 2.5 rows of the lot were empty and the side spaces not as full as usual (Jim M. and Bob the capacitor vendor were among several regulars that I noticed were absent). Was a good meet for classic car spotting though. Next year I may have to take the Lincoln down...I grew up in that county so I'll have to drive it through my old neighborhood, and past a house that used to have one.

All I bought (more like traded since I had the same amount of money before leaving home and after returning) was an accessory RCA 45RPM changer, Violet ray HV generator (time to return the one Jim lent me), correct brand/color speaker for my National HRO-50, an SVHS deck, HV probe and a hand full of cheap parts. There was a 10" Admiral console TV but it was a combo so I resisted temptation.

The most worthwhile part of the trip was stopping at another VKer's place after the meet and helping him unload some test and audio gear. I got a lot of excellent stuff from him that I'm looking forward to using.

Tom, thanks for noticing I wasn't there. I think this is only the 2nd time in 15 or so years that I've missed that meet. Too hot and humid for me this year. That and I had nothing of value to sell to make the trip worthwhile.

Surprised to hear Bob Piekarz wasn't there. http://www.radioantiques.com/index.html He's usually a late arrival there. Hope he is well.
