Those knobs constantly develope that white haze. I would polish them thoroughly and, soon enough, the white haze would come back with the set just sitting on the shelf.

You're right. I just looked at a Bogen amp that I have in the basement and they have the stuff and they were cleaned before.

That's the Tenite (cellulose acetate) plastic deteriorating. Nothing you can do about it AFAIK.

I wonder if you sprayed them with a clear acrylic spray, it would delay the deterioration. Or auto clear-cote.

that E-cap next to the tuner is your problem,..is picking up humm from the E-cap being close with tuner...try moving away from tuner
