Early 70's Hitachi 13" Color TV
I can't remember if I've posted about this before, but thought I'd share a few pictures. Even tho it has a handle, I wouldn't say it's portable. (unless you want a hernia)
I've had the back off once, and I think it had a 1971 or 72 code date on the picture tube, but I could be mistaken. It's a rare bird none-the-less, and I believe one of the earliest solid-state televisions I own. The model number is CFA-440. It uses a delta gun tube (instant on), and is a solid state chassis. If anyone can figure out from the SAMS index what year it is, feel free to correct me as to the year. Anyway.. here are some pictures I took today. |

I come up with 6-72 for sams. So probably made in 1971.
I do remember those sets. If you want a sams I probably have it, I just picked up a long run of them & will be selling them at a reasonable price. PM me if interested..................... 73 Zeno |

IMO, you're lucky to have that TV... It's a great set. I passed up on a 1970 Hitachi 13" color set once. It made a superb picture and had instant-on. The seller on CL wanted $50 and I felt that was too high. Now, I'd gladly have paid it.
