Won a 'Reflect-O-Scope' today
For the pauperly sum of $7.99 too, can't beat that. I think the museum also has one of these, right?

Seriously, that thing is cool. I wonder how hard it is to use without straining your back or neck?

Probably no more straining than holding a mirror with one hand and stretching the other one back to reach the pots on the convergence board.
Reminds me of the Cub Scout periscope that I made out of milk cartons & pocket mirrors. Phil Nelson |

That is cool, it looks like you could only use it to adjust the top of the screen though, or maybe it's for the center convergence?

Yes, I believe it's for center convergence only. That means you still need a mirror on a tripod to get the rest of it right, or a convergence panel with long enough wires.

A few years ago at an ETF convention I was setting up a color set. The mirror was tough to see so I grabbed the vintage scope on display there and tried it. Steve McVoy rounded the corner, saw me and chuckled. Was he pleased to see the scope in use or was it a goofy image... probably both
