Thumbs up 1983 Sharp VC-381C VCR (pics and video)

Picked up this vintage 1983 Sharp VC-381C VCR for free from a house clearance. I didnt test it.
Brought it home, cleaned it up and tested it. Everything seems to work.
The thing weighs a ton !
Here's some pics and video.

Very nice. I haven't even plugged in my VC-581C yet. Too many devices, too few outlets. I like the old-school VFD with the day-of-the-week indicator. Mine has spring terminals for UHF.

Lovely "magnetoscope"!
I like how you've got Scarface '83 on top of it, all ready to go. That's a great film with a great Moroder soundtrack.. I have it on 3 formats!
Enjoy that Sharp

I'm going to re-belt, put in a new idler tire and clean my 581 before I even try to play any tapes. I see this sort of thing as akin to starting up an old car that's been sitting for a long time, must do some routine maintenance to avoid things like clogging the carb with varnished gas. Besides, mine was sitting in a garage for who knows how long.
