another Stockholm ctc-16 my 3rd one

I wasn't going to do this, I used to think these sets were rare...Picked this up from upstate NY yesterday from a nice older gent who was under the impression that it needed a CRT. Took my tester with me, the tube is fine the entire thing works and the TV portion is fine except for the PVA degrading in the CRT, I went to get this as a spare/parts set now im in deep with another one, im not complaining this is too much fun. No, I really don't, I just have a soft spot for these things, and after I spoke to the man who sold it to me, it sounded as if it might end up getting junked and since I had to go up to that area anyway I figured it was meant to be.That it worked well out of the box and had a good CRT was just a bonus. I saw an ad on the ETF for a 21fjp22 and IIRC the seller wanted $600 for it, so better to be safe than sorry with having an extra tube should I ever need.

Bruce,
These things are like strays: you can't leave them out in the cold where they may get hurt or killed.

Thanks Frank, I knew you would understand. That day I came to your house and saw the Maggie combos and the Zenith roundie I knew I wasn't the only one.

Combos and big consoles have a habit of following me home as well.

I have several combos, I really like the way you can listen to albums, Radio, or TV on built into a fine piece of furniture. The Stockholm has the added benefit of have a VERY cool design, and quite possibly the best of the RCA roundie chassis (CTC-16 the final run).

I know the feeling. I now have 5 combos plus numerous other console sets. I have a similar set to yours except it is a CTC-17X rectangular screen. These things just seem to follow me home.......

Some people like the design and some don't, but having been alive during the era, personally I think that Danish modern style is the best representation of the time. Id like to see pictures of that set with the ctc17.

I personally like the danish modern style, and most styles that were modern for their time both older and newer than that.

If you happen to find your self out near Milwaukee with a stockholm you don't want to keep, look me up.
