Thumbs up Sony Trinitron KV-1948R

Original owner of a beautiful and unique KV-1948R 19" Sony stereo television. Talk about quality, it has been in daily use since early 1983 and never required a single repair! Manufacture date is Feburary 1983. Cost around $750. Just retired it today and moving this set to a guest bedroom. Just wondering, would this beauty have much value today? Although it has a lot of centimental value its current monetary value is probably not much. Really not looking to sell it since this Sony is like a member of the family. Will post photos as soon as possible.

Really glad to be a new member of this forum.

Welcome to you Louis. I would say that your TV set is more a sentimental value than a monetary value.. .. My opinion but if your set is in a good working condition and clean, keep it.

I agree that if it still works good, keep it and enjoy it. Unfortunately, most people wouldn't take a TV from the '80's if you gave it to them. The ones that the thrift stores get in usually go straight to the dumpster or get sold for under $10.

For me the only interest I have for this model is the picture tube because it is the quality.....This set is cleaned but unfortunately i have no place for it.

I picked up a Sony KV-1946R (May '82) from the Goodwill a while back for $12. I use it for my NES.
