Bummed out
Hello guys. I just want to say I am really bummed out today. I just got back from an estate sale that had what could have been the lottery of finds.
I went down into the basement of this house and there were two tv cabinets. The first cabinet was a RCA CTC-4 cabinet. The other was a Motorola 19CT1. I am not lying. The reason I am bummed is that they were both just empty cabinets and one guy was buying the Motorola one to put a fish tank into it. Damn! |

Well, maybe some young ham operator of a few years ago built a simple
transmitter with parts of one of these TVs. Maybe... |

I would have liked to had that CTC4 cabinet as mine is falling apart. Really, I feel your pain. For me, it's either an "empty cabinet", "hauled it to the dump this morning" or "it was sold five minutes before you got here to someone who wants to gut it". Actually, my CTC4 was very close to getting torched. It was under an old shed exposed to weather. The CRT is busted, the back cover is missing, and the cabinet is falling apart. I'm holding on to it until the day comes when I get brave enough to restore it.

My nephew has a 21ct663u ctc4 cabinet that he used to hold his stereo system. CRT was busted when he got it so he gutted it and used the cabinet. It might be available. Looked ok, small trim piece missing on one of the doors I think. It is located just out of Memphis, TN

Find another appliance to stuff a fishtank in! It's getting quite old, haha. And Motorola's aren't exactly common either.
