20" Zenith healthview TV from 2008

At the local flea market, there is a 20" Zenith healthview hospital TV from 2008 for $40. It has a flat tube CRT display and a built in digital tuner. They had it turned on and the picture was very good. I'm not much into BPC TV's; but, had I had $40 to spare, I might have gotten it because it's likely one of the last Zenith CRT TV's and likely one of the last hospital CRT TV's.

Our local hospitals still have some older CRT TV's from the '80's and '90's; but, they are being replaced with flat panel TV's when they fail.

The main hospital TV that I'd like to find is a mid '70's Sylvania E08 chassis set. This is a 19" delta gun set with the 3-board modular chassis and motorized tuner. Our local hospital used them until the late '80's, when they were replaced by Magnavox cable ready TV's with electronic tuning. I haven't seen one of those Sylvania's since the mid '90's. I also recall some Sylvania E32 chassis sets from the early '80's that had electronic tuning and some E51 chassis sets with a motorized varactor tuner and inline gun CRT.

If that Zenith set is there when I go back, I might get it. I'm sure it will be there because they have a ton of CRT TV's and they're not exactly flying off the shelves.

Don't think they were DTV models, but about a year back there were a BUNCH of them at a local thrift for ~2$ a pop. I considered getting one to keep a few decades and sell, but mom was worried there would be all kinds of germs and diseases in them so that idea was quickly killed.

Actually, I found this TV online and they claim that it has an ATSC/NTSC/clear QAM tuner. I think all TV's made after March, 2007 for the US market were required to have a digital tuner.

The ones I saw were probably late 90's.

LG had the service lit for their flat screen CRT sets online as late as 2011, on their Canadian site. I've got a mirror of the website somewhere on CD/DVD if you should need the service lit for the 2008 Zenith set.

Cheers,
