Question about Motorola Model 6FTX Console

I just purchased an old house in rural Virginia. In a garage I found the following radio/phonograph console.

It says that it is a Motorola Model 6FT(the rest is missing).
Can anyone give me more info on this old box?

Here are some more images. I am not having any luck with Google.
I suspect, as do my step-mother and father that the radio of of the late 1940s and early 1950s. I found a picture of a 1950 TV that had sort of the same style.

I looked in the Sams index and it's covered in #117, which is late 1950. It's possible I have a copy - I'll look tonight. If not, your library may be able to get you a copy.
