Hi Paula, welcome to the funny farm. Did I see your name in relation to copying vinyl to CD somewhere else?

Perhaps... I have particpated in a few discussions of the subject over on Craig's List, but that was about it.

Smile Welcome!

I think I recognize your name. I'm also a senior member at AntiqueRadios.com. Is that where I know you from?

Always good to have another tubie around!

Nice to meet you, Clay!

No, that wouldn't have been me. I've only got back into the hobby fairly recently.

Welcome Paula!

There's a different Paula who hangs out on the antique radio board (which is down rght now... ). I think she's in Texas, though.

Welcome Paula! Nice to see a girl in here with this obsession! I sometimes get tired to dealing with all these crabby, ugly old dudes!

Smile Welcome to the AK Club, Paula!

This is a great place to share your tube experiences with other like-minded individuals (even tube nubes like me who's never built a Heathkit...does a RadioShack's 150-in-One Electronic Projects Kit count?). Most of my valve knowledge I've either learned from my dad, and from this forum, and we're never too old to learn new things!

You'll enjoy it here!

Re: Welcome to the AK Club, Paula!

Hi jt1stcav,

Better a nube than a rube!

Thanks for the warm welcome (and all the rest of you guys, too!)

You're fortunate to have your dad to impart some of his knowledge to you. My dad was a whiz at accounting, but had little in the way of electronics know-how to share. A wonderful man though. You're right, we're never too old to learn new stuff, and I think that it's one of the things that keeps us young.

I was pretty disappointed (and embarrassed) when I discovered Sandy G was a guy!

Paula being here will keep us on our toes!

My grandmother was disappointed, too. She had 2 boys already- my dad & my uncle-, & when I came squalling into the world w/a stem on my apple, I became a "persona non-grata" w/her. My sister came along 4 yrs later, Dec.'61, & my gran used to buy her DOZENS of dresses. Mary Lou didn't like 'em, tho- they were generally "Little Miss Pinafore" frilly numbers, & she's always been a jeans 'n' t-shirt kind of gal. -Sandy G.
