I try to avoid anything too common, so I usually don't bother with RCA. I have only one left, my 1978 19" XL-100 that's awaiting repairs for a common vertical problem. Very plain set, but for some reason I find it quite fetching. Not much dust in it and it's in excellent condition, probably sidelined early in its life due to the vertical problem and stored until I got it.

...Well..I never meant to suggest that RCA sets were common in general....

No one can tell me that a CT-100 or 21-CT-55 is a 'common' set ! Or even previously-common ilk such as chassis type CTC-74, an electronically tuned set. or the ctc-121 for instance which, these days, is getting rarer by the second.

RCA made many many many sets. Reason enough to 'bother with' them as a collector, well into the solid-state era of analog.

Well, if an RCA has features that make it interesting to me I'll grab it. A motor-driven remote tuner for example will make just about any early SS set appealing to me. Usually the oldest TVs I see around here are late 80s-early 90s RCA consoles.

Found these pristine condition records and vintage tin at an estate sale today (on a friday), near my house.
The Marrs - Pump up the volume was a thrift shop buy.
Paid $10.00 for all.

Got 3 gigantic Apollo Saturn rockets, 2 of which are flying models....one uses 4 Estes type motors and one uses a HUGE rocket motor of some kind. The one on the stand is a Monogram model from 1968. All for $20

Plus, I got this cool Heathkit IM-1202 nixie tube multimeter with probes. I paid $20 for it, only because I figured someone here might want it. So, if you do, drop me a PM

I had the big Monogram moon rocket model, too. My Mom painted it, she was a MUCH better artist than I was. Seems like it was originally designed to come apart into the various stages-Or you could Cheat, like I did, & just make it "Solid". Think I tried makin' it "Collapsable" which was all it did-Fall apart.
