Can anyone recommend a good Technician in the Phoenix area to repair a RCA CTC15E color set?

I'm answering my own question. Found a retired gentleman who had a TV repair shop in Phoenix for 60 years. Spoke with him and he said he worked on many CTC-15's. He is coming out to my place to take a look. I may have an alignment problem.

If you could, find out if he does video game CRT degaussing. Friend of mine in Surprise just got a Galaga, and the red purity is off.....

Did he by chance mention the name of his shop? I worked a couple of years in Phoenix ('67-'69) and was familiar with most of the shops.

I've also found that purity issues can be caused by where in the room the game is placed, near speakers or large metal ducts/registers. If the deguassing doesn't work I once had a pacman where I had to adjust the purity rings to fix the issue. Just be sure to mark them first |

There's a place in the southern part of Phoenix that does vintage stereo repair, and I think he'll do TVs as well:
http://www.godarusa.com He advertises in CL occasionally. |

All I know is his name is Frank. I forgot to ask what his shop name was. I was referred to him by Melrose TV.

Frank, the guy that is coming over thinks I may have an alignment issue. The symptom is when I tune to the optimum point, the color shifts back and forth to green cast and normal. If I tune clockwise well past the optimum tuning point the color is stable, but then the image is dull and not focused properly.

Any chance you could share the contact information on "Frank"?
I have a couple of old TVs in the Phoenix area, and I've been looking for anyone who repairs them, in the hope that they might want to buy them, even for a pittance, for parts. I was thinking maybe someone like Frank could use them. |
