Are these worth anything?

I mainly work on pre 60s stuff. I got a chance to get a nice Zenith bicentennial tube caddy today and I got it. I paid a little more than I really wanted but it is in great shape except for needing a good cleanup. The fellow I got it from had picked it up and it was full of flybacks. I think most are solid state and from the 70s to 80s. There is between 10 to 15 flybacks and I think some if not all are new. Some may be used but they are marked with notes on them being good. With that said do these look like they would be worth saving? Do they have any value at all or should I trash them. I am going to cut back on stuff and only work on old tube items, mostly amps and radios. I do have a few older TVs, 48 philco and small 60s portable. I have a 30x52 workshop/barn filled with mostly old electronics and then a workshop in the house but I am maxed out on space. P.S. if anyone is in the Middle Tennessee area and need parts let me know.

Since he had them in stock they were common
ones to go. If you wont use them maybe someone
will pay shipping to take them & not waste them.
There will be a day when they will be wanted.
BTW do you have the matching TV set ?
Tons on e-bay but over priced.......

You got me curious on the matching TV set. Did you mean the matching TV set for the caddy, flyback or what was it referring to? As far as the flybacks go I will be hopefully be able to do a little research this weekend to see what they go in or if there is common parts. I got started out learning on TVs over 30 years ago then made my way into computers that I do now. I have gotten back into tube repairs to keep my skills up on that type of repair. I bought a trunk load of parts from a closed shop back in November I am still going through. I may figure out what I don't want and load it up to take to a meet.

There are always a few on e-bay.

If you make a list of part numbers on the FBT's we can
ID many of them for sure.

Neat set! I worked in a few repair shops years ago in the 80s and I did some TV repair on my own going to tech school but I don't ever remember seeing one of these. Looks like a common Zenith with Bicentennial badging on it. I have a small Zenith from sometime around then I may have to display with the caddy.

I work odd hours, Go out of the house just after 4 am then I am gone roughly 13 hours or more so during the week I am too tired and have little time for the hobby. But I do get Fridays off. I have a repair coming in and some other items to take care of so I will try to get a list.

The phrase "bicentennial tube caddy" just plain broke my brain's logic sections. Sort of like "turbocharged horse" or "handheld piano". So, I had to look at your pictures... Sure enough, that's what it is! Nice find.

(How many technicians or shops were buying/requesting NEW tube caddies in 1976? )

I have seen three of them. One back in the 80s a TV shop owner had. He didn't have a need for it but got it because he thought it would be worth something later. It looked brand new. Another one about a year or so ago, A retired TV shop owner. He said he wanted to sale out but he wouldn't tell me what he wanted for anything. The last one was the one I got. Its probably the nicest tube caddy I have. This makes 5 tube caddys I have now. I even have a small tungsol that has the repairman on it.

1976 was about the end of new tube sets but almost all road
work was old tube consoles. As years went by the tube caddie
became a module caddie then a parts caddie. Often they were
a free premium like buy the 1977 module kit & get free caddie.
One unusual use was by our local EMT's. They liked the set-up
of the Zenith caddie & bought one to make a first aid kit.
Much cheaper than the real ones. That idea spread around & many
towns had them in ambulances & cruisers. One incident in town
a fireman went to a ME & the man told him " my TV is fine,
go get a first aid kit".

I have been extremely busy with tube repairs and under the weather since I last posted. I finally got a list of the parts posted here. I wrote this information down but lost it. I am thinking about cleaning out my shop of parts I don't think I will ever need. I have a philco 49-1002 TV I want to restore or maybe trade for a RCA of the same year. I also would like to find one of the late 60s Zenith metal case B+W TVs to restore as well. Other than that I don't think I will ever have a need for TV parts. I got a load of parts before this I am still going through. I haven't looked up anything on these flybacks. Anyway I eventually want to get them into the hand of someone who can use them . Hopefully I didn't misplace them, I have a 52x30 workshop filled with mostly tube and other electronic stuff so it is somewhere in there.
