One solid state among tubed sets

We were able to rescue two of the tubed Zeniths and the one transistorized one. The tube sets are too degraded inside for me to be confident in getting them going, but I hope to find someone, someday, who will help me get them working again. I believe Zenith called those sets the Caribbean(?), 16D25 chassis. I was able to revive the solid state set with minimal effort. You get a cookie if you know where these were...sadly, the structure has since been demolished, and the rest of the sets presumed destroyed. :C

Very close! (Basically, yes.)

The only thing left as of last month is the boilerhouse.

The tube sets don't look all that bad inside. I've seen worse ones out of basements of occupied houses that have come back to life just fine.

Everything topside looks great! The issues are under the chassis, mostly related to transformers (chokes) with insulation so bug-eaten I'm afraid to try. Both sets also have a neon lamp floating around inside and I cannot tell where it came from, to put it back into the circuit.

Sam's should show where the neon was. Bug eaten isn't bad. They typically eat the paper/fabric wrap which isn't a problem and leave allone the lacquer insulation on the copper windings wire.
Just have to make sure the solder joints to the plastic insulated wires (that connect the magnet wires to the rest of the chassis) aren't touching and shorting.

It's mouse damage that sucks because they'll chew right through the winding wires. I've had to patch open mouse eaten windings before, not exactly my favorite thing.

My 55" Flatpanel Smart TV from 2016 was found abandoned at a local recycling center (regular recycling center, not electronics recycling center), and I picked it up, brought it home, cleaned it up, and plugged it in and sure enough it worked just fine yet, the only thing wrong with it was that the "smart" software that was built into the TV was out of date and could no longer be updated by the company that made the TV, but I just use it with a Roku for the smart TV features.

Ah I went and saw an abandoned motel today!!

It was 1 floor and had maybe 10 rooms.... All the doors were open and the glass smashed out in most rooms/ceiling falling in in some spots... (floors caving in others)

What I found inside was a dream!!!

Many CRT sets...... And in room 10 there was a beautiful console set, looked in excellent shape...I wonder if any of it stlll works??

Thats rooms roof is in tact,it hasnt rained inside the room or anything.......

I would love to test some of those sets!!

I also found a phone book from the 90s and some toys.........

A bike was outside standing on its kick stand!!! -- How the hell after all these years is it still standing??

I also found a VCR that was torn to shreads (Opened) and I was curious if there were any VHS tapes in there??

There was a basement and I found the stairs but they didnt look stable or I would have gone down.......

Quite an interesting day!!
