Need Help - Sears solid state radio clock tv model 5029

Ok... so I finally got one. Price was right... which means it has issues. Need some advice. Remember I am still a novice..
Ok.. so I have power.. clock and alarm works.... radio kind of works but volume is barely heard even when all the way up.... tv only has what you see below - a thick line across the tube... the volume seems fine on it though...
I popped the back. The V and H hold seem to work but the picture still only goes about an inch. The tube lights up and the fuses I can see seem to still be good....
ideas?

Odds are the capacitors in the vertical circuit are bad...The audio coupling caps are also likely going causing the weak sound. An ESR meeter is a good tool for ferreting out bad caps in a SS set like this.

IMPORTANT !! Do not get a manual by the 5029 model
number ! It comes back as Sams 1124 & its the wrong set.
The 562.10321 is the right model but I do not have the
Sams to be 100% ( sams 951-2 ) The set is a Toshiba & believe it or not
I know where there is one at a flea market......

Anyhows electronic M is 100% on caps. I wouldnt do a
"recap". Get a manual & we can ID the suspects. change a few at a time
& recheck for the results.

BTW dont buy manual direct from Sams, they are overpriced &
you may not get a first gen copy. Others sell sams including me for
MUCH less & its first gen not a crappy copy or PDF.

If all you need is just ESR functionality and no other bells/whistles, then lots of seasoned techs prefer the simple analog type. I bought mine from a guy in Quebec (link below) and is works very very well and nice construction quality. Checking its calibration with some precision resistors, the accuracy seems dead on. Cap manufacturers state ESR specs using standardized 100 Khz SINE wave and a lot of the cheapy Chinese ones use 100 Khz square wave; but I'm not sure how important that is in the end. The one below is sine wave.
