E.H. Scott Allwave 23

Hi,
Has anyone recapped an Allwave 23 tuner, or a similar unit?
I have a few questions:
Is it straight forward to remove the coil wheel? is it keyed in some way?
How do I remove the square aluminum boxes?, some have a screw in their side that may secure parts inside.
How are the cans with the grid wires coming out opened?
I can replace about 1/2 of the wax caps without disassembling, but many require taking shields and such apart. I don't want to ruin anything.
Thanks,
Scott

Edit:
Nevermind, the unit has every wax cap restuffed already. I have to look someplace else.
Does the 7 knob unit need the phono shorted when not in use, to work?

This is one of my "holy grail" sets. The others are the Zenith Strat, 835 and Philco 38-690XX. These are, without a doubt, the FINEST AM radios ever devised. I could've gotten a Philco but alas, no more room for consoles (waiting on Philco 116-122 in a tombstone case.
