Hitachi CT-150 and Victor (JVC)
Down, near Gara de Nord, at Universitatea Politehnica din Bucuresti (The Politehncical Univeristy form Bucharest)-at "Polizu" buildings they have two vintage color tv (manufactured about 1963-1964): an Hitcahi CT-150 an and and Victor (JVC), bouth equiped with 21'' (54 cm) "RCA" round picture tube (the one from the "Hitachi" is an "21CYP22A"). Do you have any ideea, where I cand I find more information about these sets? I asked the teacher from there, but he couldn't give any information about those 2 sets.
BY THE WAY, THE SETS AREN'T FORE SALE. I'VE TRIED TO BUY THEM TOO! |

These sets sound interesting. These are very near you? Would there be any way that you could get some photos of the two and post them here? We'd love to see them. It's not every day that you can find a Hitachi or JVC roundie!
I'm sure it would be in the best interests to get the university's permission first for the photographs.

It is intersting that the writing on the front of the sets is all in English? Were these sets made for export from Japan? I've seen one other Japanese roundie on this fourm a while back, but it was in Japan.

The Japanese have a long history of using English as a design element even for labels of items sold only in Japan. Don't know if this was already the fashion at the time.

When I was in the army stationed at Camp Zama near Tokyo, I would always to downtown, The JVC products always used the victorla and Nipper the dog as the insignia.

They are in Romania because they where use in 1964 or 1965 at some experimental N.T.S.C. broadcasting! The proffesor from the "Politehica" Univeristy from Bucharest obtained 'em from the Japanesee Embessy!
