Thanks zeno, my Electrohome was i think a 76 or 77 model made in Kitchener, Ontario and is unfortunately long gone. I do remember the servicability aspect of it, such as all the IC chips were socketed. My grandfather was the original owner and passed it on to me when I was 14 ( he bought a then new Hitachi) I kept the set going long as I knew how but junked it when it died with an impressive spark show from the HV section. I wouldn't mind finding another Cana-built Electrohome though.
