Colour TV Kodachrome telesnaps from 1964-66

G'day all.

I recently purchased off Ebay a set of 18 Kodachrome slides of colour TV telesnaps from 1964-66 and have uploaded them to my Flickr channel for all to see https://www.flickr.com/photos/518538...57692268945932 . I have managed to identify 3 of the slides, one is Shirley Temple in her 30s performing "In This World" on Sing Along With Mitch 3rd February 1964 https://youtu.be/hBwStLvqrt4?t=2m56s and the other 2 snaps I identified as Liberace performing a medley on Hollywood Palace 4th December 1965 https://youtu.be/z-7G1JUgYls?t=35m35s and also actress Helen O'Connell doing a Polaroid camera commercial spot on the same show https://youtu.be/z-7G1JUgYls?t=43m58s .

The rest of the slides I haven't been able to identify and so I turn to you all for help to identify the shows of the other slides. I am very interested in know what those other shows are and if they exist or not, as reuse of videotape was common then some of those slides might possibly be the only known record of some of those programs. Anyways if anyone can help identify any of those telesnaps I'd most appreciate it.

Also I like to know if anyone here has slides of colour TV telesnaps from the 50s as it would be great to get more of a glimpse of early American colour TV programming!

Pix # 4 has Danny Thomas in the black tux. The parade is
probably the Macys Thanksgivings day parade in NYC. Always
telecast & a colorful event.
Good luck on the rest.

Wow Thank you so much for the IDs, I have now positively identified pic 4 to be Danny Thomas's "The Wonderful World of Burlesque" 8th December 1965 which I found a B&W kinescope of it on YouTube https://youtu.be/y-ziKo48JyE?t=10m19s to the left of Danny is none other than Jerry Lewis and to the right is Shirley Jones and to the left of Jerry off screen is Lucille Ball! I wonder if the 2" quad tape of this show exists in some archive? Will search YouTube for the Macy parades.

I now have identified another telesnap https://www.flickr.com/photos/51853869@N08/41308383781/ to be Lucille Ball in a butterfly outfit on "The Wonderful World of Burlesque" which can be viewed on YouTube in glorious colour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIAvY4ZHRCA

I was going to gues the 13th slide was the Mummers Parade in Philadelphia, due to the elaborate headresses, but then the 14th definitely is in front of a Macy building.

Could you put a number in each image title on Flickr so we could refer to them more easily?

The next-to-last snap looks like Eydie Gorme to me.

Edit: checked Google street view, and the Macy building definitely is New York.

The 15th slide is one of the puppets from the "Lonely Goatherd" scene in "Sound of Music," but I don't think it's a clip from the movie. Can't tell if this was on a float in the Macy's parade.

I'm guessing that #5 (blonde with feather outfit) is Mitzi Gaynor.

Identify Color TV Show

In the first show I ever saw in color the stage was set with Rail Road Crossing gates and ladies singing and dancing around them. Can anyone identify?
Thank you,
Perry

Some questions are more easily answered if you post your general location in your profile - assume you are in the US?

Could be any of a number of variety shows - do you recall anything else? About what year?

The more I look at slide 13, the more I'm thinking Mummers Parade, but I can't find the background buildings on Google Earth street view, so it's still iffy.

Yep will put numbers in but am pretty much knowing what images you're referring to based off the order of the photos. Anyways doing some YouTubing of Eydie Gorme, that lady does look like her, plus someone commented on the photo saying it looks like Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, just looked at some 1964 footage of Tonight Show and the tree and backdrop does seem to match so I reckon it would be Eydie Gorme on The Tonight Show 1964! Yep noticed Macy lettering clearly on the building in the parade shot, so would be Macy Thanksgiving Parade without a doubt! Thanks for the excellent clues!!!

Wikipedia is sometimes really useful

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...episodes_(1964)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...episodes_(1965)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...episodes_(1966)

Eydie Gorme appeared on the Tonight show dozens of times, but not near Christmas in 1964. In '65 she was on in both January and December, and in 1966 in December.

I’m guessing the last photo is Shirley Temple. Image 5, if not Mitzi Gaynor, possibly Debbie Reynolds.

Thanks. Yep I thought it was Shirley and have confirmed it earlier on and identified her performance to be on Sing Along With Mitch which can be seen on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBwS...utu.be&t=2m56s

I'd vote for Debbie Reynolds for #5.
