My second vintage color set
Thanks to some extreme generosity of a good friend I will be able to get a second color set soon. Recently I came to a deal with a seller on a CTC-11. However I then ran into some unexpected major home repair expenses and had to back out of buying that set. Was a bit bummed. But now it looks like I am the owner of a BEAUTIFUL CTC-7 Pensbury. I will grab it at the ETF Convention next month. Thing looks brand new and is spotless, inside and out. CRT tests great on all three guns and no signs of overheating on power transformer or flyback.
So excited to restore my second vintage color set. Glad I am bringing a few sets to sell in the auctions at ETF. I need space.

Absolutely love that cabinet style. It seems in really great physical condition. Indeed a worthy restoration candidate.

Those are nice sets, indeed. I have one exactly like it. You can read some restoration notes at:
http://antiqueradio.org/RCACTC-7ColorTelevision.htm The article includes a link to the 50-page RCA service clinic manual, a detailed and very helpful doc. Have fun! Phil Nelson Phil's Old Radios http://antiqueradio.org/index.html |

Where will you put your second grand early color model? Next to the Arliss or somewhere else?
This one is first of the vertical chassis and the CTC11 was the last.

I am selling a few of my B&W consoles at the ETF auctions next month. Then both the Arliss and the Pensbury will be side by side in the basement in front of my larger sofa. Should look great!

That's right, I know the CTC5 was flat tho. Never see any older than CTC12 locally, I mean WTF ---the freakin CRT plant was here!
BTW - I can send a cabinet for a CTC4 "director" with good speaker grill cloth and pencilbox, tube chart, shield etc. Top of cabinet, back, legs and all else is AWOL tho

If my 7 looked like that I'd have some motivation to get it working! |
