I missed the part about the chassis, guess someone needs to write and ask what's up?

Beautiful screen shot, guess this is how it worked before whatever happened to the chassis?

OK, I wrote and asked.

I just noticed, it's in Van Nuys CA, about 70 miles from me, or three hours by Freeway

No...No...I don't have room.

Klatuu

The seller of that big ole' beauty is Klatuu. He is a Forum member, and another picture of that RCA set and others of his can be seen on page 3 of "Show us your vintage color sets." I know Klatuu, he's got a great collection, but not a technical guy. I suspect that Danish modern tv just needs a little TLC. I live in L.A. and only wish I had room for it.

That is a beauty. Too far from South Texas! Danish Modern sets from the mid 60s are great. The set I'd like to find is "The Narvik", a CTC25. That cabinet is very Danish Modern. We had one when I was a kid. Later it was stored at the old farm house when the roof leaked and ruined it. Dad had it hauled off. :-( It was one of the early 25 in sets.

I wrote and asked about that.
He said:

" Just not working. According to Repairman, printed circuits have separated from their boards, among other problems. He said a complete new chassis was needed"

Well to a modern repair person this might seem the case, but to those of us who are used to such things these would just be normal problems for a vintage set.

Big ole' confusion

Mike,
As you can see there are two posts discussing this RCA combo. The seller is not a technical guy and when his screen went dark he assumed that he needed a new chassis. A poor choice of words. Myself and others suggested that he re-phase the listing to reflect the fact that the chassis probably needs some common repairs such as a recap or change out some tubes ect. This is well within the skill level of most tv restorers. This is a big set to ship. If you have any doubts, you might give it a pass. Hope this helps.

Confused
Mikey, no offense intended but what are you refering to. It seems to be a reply to something in the Audio portion of the forum with the mention of "heavy" and "stereo rules."

None taken.

I was replying to the statement that the TV/stereo must sound great.

Sounds like its more work than it looked. If printed circuits are bad, thats a whole another ballgame.
