Panasonic AG-7350 Playback Problems PAL & NTSC
Hey guys,
i have a Panasonic AG-7350 video recorder here. The video recorder does not show a good picture when playing a Pal cassette, and the tracking is not good either. The sound works on normal as well as on HI-FI. When playing NTSC cassettes, the picture and tracking is significantly better, but the picture is still not clean. Here is a video for more details. https://youtu.be/4RZ2KgMy_d8 I have already replaced a few capacitors based on this YouTube video. https://youtu.be/oJLEtmANGIA Unfortunately unsuccessful so far. Maybe someone has an idea what could be the problem. Greetings |

It's not a multi standard machine, you can't play a PAL/SECAM tape in an NTSC machine and expect it to work correctly. 7350P is the PAL format model and neither will play a LP or SLP recorded tape, it's SP only.

His NTSC model will play 6 hour recordings with normal audio.

As far as I know, P is the NTSC model and E is the Pal model. My recorder is an AG-7350E wich is PAL.

So explain to me how a PAL deck plays an NTSC tape better than it's native format?

A lot of speculation could have been avoided if you originally stated you had an AG7350"E" going back to your 6/21 post.

Don't recall seeing this function on my old 7350... one caveat, NTSC 4.43 is not the same as the common NTSC which is 3.58. 4.43 is the colorburst frequency which is common across the pond and not compatible with tapes recorded in the states.
