My new Amrad F-516

I got this thing at a flea mall for $5. Just one original tube and is dated 1936. I am planning to get the ugly white spray paint off and restore the original wood grain finish.

Maybe the ugly white paint is a blessing. Possibly, no venier damage.
Amrad was the former name of Crosley. The design looks like a Crosley.
Not bad!

The white doesn't look too awful from the pic, but yeah, wood grain is always better than paint. Nice find anyway!

There is a slim chance the white could be factory (something better determined in person than by photo). If it is factory white then I'd leave it white, otherwise I'd go back to wood too.

Non-AVC superhet, autodyne converter! The output tube is a little unusual, as well. Direct coupled dual triode.
Crosley seemed to like that tube.

Nice find! Never had a set with an autodyne convertor, but know of them from Rider's "Servicing Superhetrodynes". Best wishes!
