Just got a Sparks-Withington Mirror in lid.

Better know as Sparton.

Local collector sends me an e-mail asking if I was interested, there's the no room issue to deal with but sometimes you just can't say no and as it turns out this set is really small, about the size of a Radio combo of the same era.

I got the Sparton, a somewhat rough Airline 7" with an excellent 1956 dated 7JP4, and a Pilot parts set, chassis and top of cabinet, no CRT, I need the HV transformer for another Pilot so that was a fortuitous extra.

The Sparton works excellent and is complete with the original paperwork., I went in and lifted the lid and 20 seconds later was watching a crystal clear picture, excellent sound also. Set is not restored that I know of but the seller got it from the original owners son.

Cabinet is good, it has some rough spots in the finish, mostly around the hardwood base, I think I can fix it up without a complete refinish.

Nice set Eric.
If you don't mind my asking, what is the model number of the Sparton?
