victor R-35
Hey everyone, I'm new to vintage radio but just got this victor and it's in need of a volume control. Where would be the best place to begin my search for this part? I believe this radio was made in the very early 1930's. There is a tag on one of the tubes dated in 1932. Says sold 1/10/32. Don't know if the radio was sold on that date or the tube was sold on that date. Thanks for any help locating parts for this model

Hi, the R-35 is from 1930, just after RCA bought Victor. It's one of several models from 1929-30 that used essentially the same chassis, and they are great performers once brought back to life. You may be able to get a volume control from Playthings of Past:
http://www.oldradioparts.com/ however there's always the possibility that an old original control could be scratchy. Or possibly Mark Oppat can make one up for you out of new old stock parts: http://www.oldradioparts.net/controls.html

I had to get the same control from mark, and I think that was the only one he had.
