1980 Sears/Sanyo 19” Sensor Touch - Model 564-42072050
Hi everyone, new to these forums!
Recent curbside find was this 1980 Sears Sensor Touch set (which upon further research, looks like it was made under Sanyo). It’s one of those sets where the channel up/down buttons are sensors that you just touch your finger on, and it moves up/down the presets you have set on the right. Went through and cleaned all the adjustment knobs, turns on with snow/sound (although it’s not steady at times) and noticed some things wrong with this: - The channel up/down “sensors” do not work, as it hangs on one preset (as seen in the first picture). Tired to hit the sensors inside with Deoxit with no change. - Tried to use the channel tuning knobs back to tune back channel 3/4 on the preset that it hangs, and when hooking up a game console through the VHF input on the back, I get no picture whatsoever. Any advice on getting the set tuned back to channel 3/4 and getting a picture to appear? Last edited by Quadra; 05-06-2021 at 02:02 PM. |

If it uses IC sockets on the selector board try cleaning them. Sayos
were notorious for that. Other than that you will have to dig in. 73 Zeno LFOD ! |

There were some issues with this type of tuner selector when the channel indicators were neon lamps. A bad neon lamp would keep the selector from moving to that preset. Long shot but hey..

Just change whichever preset it's stuck on to 3/4.
