Emerson “Woodie”

This picture which was posted on a NW blog site seems a bit unusual... I have seen plenty of these little radios in various colors in plastic, but never in a wooden case. Perhaps this is a home made enclosure?

What say the experts here?

Kitchen cabinet refacing supply shops sell thin adhesive backed veneer that will stick to anything...If it wasn't for the wood grain bumps in the sheen of the lacquer at the top I'd wonder if it was a paint job or decal.

The radio in your picture is from a current ebay auction.

www.ebay.com/itm/362577233482

It's real, but I don't care for the crappy refinish job, and it's got the wrong knobs on it. It should look like this:

Wow, thanks... the one in your picture definitely does not look home-made... mystery solved.

Nice looking radio, is it in your collection?
