CRT tests strong. TV got a new Sylvania CRT installed 10/13/64 (CRT warranty tage on the back). 6 months 11 days after I was born.
I still need to replace capacitors before I fire it up. That's a nice set your looking for, or do you already have it? The models are all listed on that SAMS folder, just not showing in the picture. Someone will come along and recognize it. You might also want to post that picture over on the antique television forum at ARF http://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/...cf98cf8d9408ef Sometimes seems like there is more traffic over there. Ahh...I see you don't own it yet. NY should be good hunting grounds.

yes it is a nice roundy and when i was young we had this very set and i still remember at age maybe 7-8 years old when work was done to it and remember what was done as well. and no i dont have one but i did miss one not long ago from my area and im kicking myself now. new crt in 64 wow thats great. yeah that pic on the folder i think applies to others as well i can buy that folder long as it shows the model of that set that is there on the front, that is a sams folder. maybe ill buy that folder its on ebay for 10 bucks.

i have my rca 36 inch thats 14 years old and it went 2 times already but its up and running again. first 6years old then again just last month but it plays great super clear picture, but of course this chassis has known problems like others. but like us repairing them they could be around for a long time, lol... tim

Another place to put an ad is here:
http://www.earlytelevision.org/classified_page.html The more places, the better. That is an obscure set, but somebody out there has one! If you haven't bought the folder yet, let me know. I should have a spare copy which you can have for the postage. For that matter, I could just dig it out and get the numbers for you.

You might want to also keep in contact with whoever bought the other one in your area; sometimes people change their minds, or need to thin the collection for whatever reason.
