Fellow VK member Paul Marshall runs Golden Age TV in the UK.
http://www.golden-agetv.co.uk/ Anything from a single microphone to a 1960s vintage OB (remote) truck fully working. Paul's place doesn't look as tidy as the one cited by Electronic M |

Ha, I know that site with golden. Found it some time ago.
They are awsome. Having such an "database" of equypment makes them unique, they can make money... man, they must be very passionate and persuasive. Modern gear is more interactive, but the older one have the look. And the feeling. You can feel like in the days of the glory, it's awsome when you manage to work with it and filimg with an film camera... oh, that's quite and unique experience, like riding an steam locomotive. |

One of Paul's projects that's reaching a conclusion is Vivat.
http://projectvivat.co.uk/Vivat/Home.html One of the photos on that site shows the truck looking really splendid in central London. That was on a recent visit to London for a prestige production (don't think I'm allowed to say more at the moment). Apparently it just fits on a beavertail truck (don't know if you use the same term in the USA) which makes transporting it relatively economical. https://www.mvcommercial.com/vehicle...r-sale-sk16cxy While Vivat can be driven under its own power Paul wouldn't want to do this for more than a few miles out of consideration for its age. |

Did he restored only the truck or also put original equypment in it?

Never heard the term. Most tow trucks like that here are called flatbeds...Granted on most flatbeds the bed tilts down to the ground. There are also ramp trucks with flatbeds (the bed doesn't tilt but there are removable or stow-able ramps) here in the states...Most tow companies don't use them, but long haul auto delivery services do (though most prefer trailers).

The truck was a shell when he acquired it. It was being used as an extra classroom at a school. He's done a huge amount of research to work out how it would have been equipped. He already had the relevant cameras and some other kit. The vision mixer proved elusive; he's recently acquired one.
