RCA RP 205 changer
Does anyone have the photofact for this model? I'd like to tear down and regrease mine, but I'd prefer to have reference diagram.

I actually serviced one of these (a different model but a similar unit) and there really isn't much you need to tear apart to relube and get it going, mainly just the cam gear and the assembly that fits ontop of the cam gear, If I remember right. |

Admittedly, mine is working correctly at the moment. I've had periodic speed issues, but deep cleaning the motor bearings in lighter fluid and adding sewing machine oil to them seems to have taken care of the issue for now. However, I never gave it a full regrease, and I figure it'll eventually slow down again because of the old grease.

Kudos for listing the model and not the year....

Best I could find in my stash was the RP-205 supplement to 1956-10. That is the manual you are looking for - RCA 1956-10, RP-205 Record Changer Service Data.
My supplement shows only changed part numbers for a few parts, but lists all the suffixed model changers. Cheers,

I found it on Sams for 15 dollars. The design isn't identical to mine, looks like an earlier revision, but I imagine the mechanism is the same.

Was that changer maybe built under license from Voice of Music, or did RCA rebadge it? Personally I don't know of any other OEM but V-M who had those two prominent 10" and 12" disc sensors near the tone arm pivot.

No, it's RCA specific. I found that out when I tried to order parts for it from Gary and asking for the VM RP 205 came up with a single speed kiddie player with no changer.

RCA did license the design from VM, but they changed a lot of things, few parts interchange. Admiral also had the same type of 10" and 12" sensors after 1954, I think they got sued for infringement. The later BSR mini changer had similar sensors.

RCA did rebadge VM changers in the early 50's before taking manufacture in house.

Wow. Never knew this. Just thought it was a possibility, and maybe save you some effort, Dubis.

Maybe. I found the photofact under RCA, though.
