I'd like to see a forum member get it so we can see the story of its restoration. Looks like a challenging project!

While I know it could drive the price up for the winning bidder, I enjoy reading these forums and having these auctions pointed out so, like Phil, we can all enjoy the whole story. If course I dream of getting my hands on a vintage set like the rest of us, but this one is naturally way out of my league both distance and technical. I really hope it *stays in the family* and we get to see the story unfold. Good luck, and I will not be bidding on this.

Just got back from a couple of days in Pennsylvania riding steam trains and trolleys and so am playing catch-up.

From the pictures posted on eBay, one can draw the following conclusions: [1]this set is one of the last made and probably has a serial number on the chassis in the high 3000's. [2] this set probably has had relatively low hours of use [3] it's been beat to hell physically, but it looks as though its storage hasn't been too harsh (all that dust notwithstanding). and so, [4] there's a decent chance the CRT and a majority of the original inductors are okay... let's hope.

Sold for $2040. Did someone from here get it? Can't wait to hear the report on the condition of the CRT.

In the end, I couldn't justify a trip to New Hampshire. Rental of U-Haul, miss a few days of work, etc. Somebody got a deal if the CRT is good, not so much if it isn't.

If one ever shows up in the midwest, I'll try a little harder. Hope it was one of us too.
