InWhen I went to Europe as a teenager, I saw those serif 1's, and 7's with a slash though them for the first time, and thought it's much better than our Canadian numbers. Used them for about six months, then decided it isn't patriotic and went back to "normal" 1 sans serif, and 7 sans slash.
Those 7s are a continental European thing. Like resistors as rectangles instead of squiggles. Last edited by maxhifi; 11-17-2017 at 06:53 PM. |

Bought a pair of shoes at the thrift store, the left was marked $6 & the right was marked $8. I thought the clerk would go ahead & give them to me for $6 but he split the difference & charged me $7. That's okay, I would have paid $9!
I once found a CTC-11 at an indoor flea market over 2 hours from home but the vendor was away for the weekend. I drove all the way back the next Saturday. I heard $15 & he didn't fuss about it when he helped me load it; as we drove away my girlfriend at the time told me she was pretty sure he'd said $50. Part of me has always felt a little guilty about that. Panasonic stuff from that era has a neat design with lots of thought put into it. This reminds me of a couple of their auto-tune transistor radios that I've owned; one had a key-wround motor. Really, who else would do that?

I know the feeling. But if dude didn't say anything I'm pretty sure it didn't matter that much to him. |

The first season was great. I've got it on a hard drive somewhere. Just don't do the TV experiment from the episode where they look at Water (unless you don't like your TV ).
