Ain't never been to Arizona, have ye?

I've been out to Phoenix at least 6 or 7 times in the last 5 years. I still can't get used to the lack of grass

NO FRONT LAWN ?
At the house in town we had grass in the front and backyard. Out water bill was rather high.

At this house we are going to plant grass in the backyard, but the front yard is going to remain the rock. With the grass in the backyard, we are going to need a riding lawnmower.

In that part of the country there is a drought, going on 3 years, even though they often
make the silly news with flash floods. A lot of areas there are being incentifised to reduce
the size of grass areas, and in the future it looks like that will continue....

It may just be a good idea to just get some softer rocks or rubber grass for the back....

Just wondering at what acreage number do you consider moving from walker to
rider for grass cutting....? Or is it more a matter of heat....? Or do you cut
at night and want the headlights....? Not seen walkers with headlights yet...

A lot of the southwest states continually wish they could tap into the great lakes for more water, and the great lake states continually (and IMHO rightly) deny them to prevent all the negative issues that would go along with further tapping into the lakes.

Yet it seems to occur to nobody that there is a vast supply of water that those surrounding it would love to see significantly reduced....I speak of the Mississippi river. Every spring it floods from the snow melt, and it is all America can do to contain that, but if we instead diverted the excess water from the river every spring into canals and storage lakes in or leading to the southwest we could kill two birds with one stone. We could prevent excessive river levels (and the flooding they produce), and substantially increase the water supply in the southwest.

Yah..... For that you need a government that thinks ahead..... And can work
together for a common goal to benefit others than those in the area the work
will be done in.... It won't happen here.......
