Color tv sets of the '50's
I want some links to color tv sets of the '50's (I'm especially interested in what offered every company-for eg. what offered "Zenith" at it's tv sets and didn't offered "R.C.A." at it's tv sets)

Hi. My website has a links page to all my favourite sites, go down to the television section and click on the links there, some are colour TV sites, some are B&W and some are both, and also look in the camera links too as those sites have early colour cameras of the 50s plus tellies of that era too. Here's the link to my links page http://70scountdown.50megs.com/links.html . Some of the main colour TV pages are:
Ed Reitan's colour TV history http://www.novia.net/~ereitan/ (an excellent site all on the first 5 years of colour television 1954 to 1959) Early Television Foundation http://www.earlytelevision.org/ (all about the history of televisions B&W and colour) Chuck Pharis's camera site http://www.pharis-video.com/ (he has almost every pre-1960 American camera you can think of including a rare 1953/54 RCA TK-40 colour and several TK-41s from the 50s and early 60s) Chris Trexler's "King Of The Road" site http://www.kingoftheroad.net/colorTV...in-action.html (All on the TK-40/41/42 cameras in action) BTW thanks for the links, that Russian TV site is slow to load but is bloody awsome mate ! Found some early colour TVs in there of the 50s which I've never seen before! Cheers Troy

Unforrtnely somebody told me that he took some components form a Soviet color tv set from 1967-69, an "Rubin" 401.
Thanks for the links, but I arleady knew about 'em. I'm seeking some piece of information about early color tv sets like "Zenith" or "Sylvanya". |

I don't think there are too many more. This "hobby" is not exactly popular in this country. I'm amazed that THIS Forum even exists!

Yeah, I'm asked how well I REALLY like my sister...and it's only been recently that I've talked 'em into letting me handle knives & other sharp objects...The good news is, nobody's held a crucifix up to me lately, & the last time I was pelted w/rocks, they were small ones, not sharp, & most of the marks have healed nicely. Things are lookin' up-I may even get invited to a few homes in 2005, provided I don't start spoutin' off about things like R-390As, CT-100s or the DuMont network. <grin>-Sandy G.
