Suggestion for restoring plastic ..

I have a 50's Rincan Radio that looks like the dash of a cadillac .. I love the radio .. it works great, and is the center piece in my build-in bookshelves around my fireplace in the living room.

But alas it had 1 flaw .. at some point in its life, someone decided to put a sticker on the top of it, which somehow got etches into the plastic.

So I finally did something about it today. Using fine sandpaper I managed to remove the sticker, and most of the etching (I know I know .. most of you screeched by now). The nice shiny blue became dull ligher blue with nice circular pattern in the plastic in the middle of the top.

But then, I grabbed what I had left of this kit (which worked great on my car):

and used it on the radio. The end result is a beautiful shiny blue top!! worked great! The plastic looks liquidy clear and great!

Hope someone finds this tip handy.
