Zenith m505 portable

I just bought a refurbished set on ebay...works well and sounds pretty good. I an hoping to get a battery somehow . It takes a z 962....I have no idea what voltage that is. There does not appear to be a d cell spot so I figure the battery is set up for a and b plus power. Any ideas?

That will take 2 batteries IIRC. One for tube filaments & the other B+.
OEM probably had a battery pack with both in one box. You can
build one by stacking modern batteries, The B+ bat is either 45 or 90
volts as a rule. See the manual for details.

All that I own is a cell phone and a tablet. I pulled up the diagram online but it us too fuzzy to read and if I print it off that is also fuzzy and I can't make anything useful out of it.

The manual is in Sams photofcts #224-18
Try to find an ORIGINAL printing.
You can get a xerox or PDF from Sams BUT the quality is often bad
& they get like $20 for it.
BTW if you hook it up wrong you can blow out a tube & some of
them are crazy money !

The diagram has 2 capacitors that are to be added if the 4 section electrolytic can is replaced with an (electrolytic which is not the non-inductive type). My set was worked on by another individual who took the can apart and put new electrolytics in it. So modern caps....inductive or not.? I have never seen that note on a diagram.one cap junctions with the osc.coil going to the converter tube grid and the other to the b plus line .
