Theres a little part of the mechanism that delays the auto shut-off long enough for the last record to play, so it will shut off one cycle after the overam drops down when the last record drops. If that gets sticky it will act as you describe. You should be able to get a correct service manual from Voice of music or sams.

Omegaman,

I've got that S'Marvelous album in stereo. My parents had it when I was a kid.

I found a mint copy of it at a thrift store a few years ago.

That turntable looks really nice. Glad to see it being restored and used.

What Olorin said. The mechanism that delays the shutoff works just like the VM changers and is located in the stacked mess underneath the turntable near the bottom of the tone arm. Follow the rods from the record balance arm to where it enters the mechanism and there will likely be a part near that area that's sticky. You'll see how when the balance arm drops completely it pulls on some metal spring wires to trigger this part of the mech. Common problem, had good luck completely soaking that area in penetrating oil and working it around with a long probe.

having a problem .the changer will drop the record then lift the tone arm, then just shut off. it does this even if records are stacked.if someone can send a pic and description of when its jamming would help. on an old post , a memeber said he soaked underneath the tone arm with oil and a long rod to get under the slide mech. if someone has figured what the problem is please help me. thank you.send pics please

PITA to repair. Design was licensed from VM Corporation, but Telefunken added features of their own to it. So it is strictly speaking, not a VM clone.
