The return of the Pink Panther?
After 15 months of waiting frustration my Philco 116-121 is repaired? Stay tuned 'til next week to find out. Next stop is refinishing the "baby grand" cabinet. Tubes work best in the dark!

I picked up the radio chassis today. I noticed a, somewhat sloppy, job replacing electronic components. I also noticed the repairman concentrated on the electronics and left behind replacing the tuning capacitor grommets and cleaning and lubing the vernier tuning: the fast tuning felt gritty. I took all the "goodies" to my cabinet man who will make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I get to order chassis mount grommets, fasteners and a replacement grill. So far, listening to my operating radio has made me happy.

Round One: Brought home one Philco 116XB. Works somewhat but it is a kludge until my certified top tech unscrews the mess and make it right. Cabinet repair is first rate! Soon it'll be all good.
Round Two: Philco 37-665B has burned out shadow meter lamp. Radio repaired and returned. Good show Walter! Your are the best! Zenith TransOceanic 7000-1 has dirty channel selector. Walter applies just the right amount of tuner cleaner. Hasn't been checked but will put in service tomorrow. Happiness is glowing tubes and warm, full sound. Tubes are still King!
