Zenith Tuner Needed
Hey, does anyone know if any tuner rebuild shops are still in business? I used one place about 6 years ago and I think they closed.
Or... if anyone has a new or used one I can buy? It's for a 1974 Zenith Sidekick B&W TV ( the denim one) Chassis number is: 12CB12X Model Number: unknown * damn Zenith stickers that fall off Tuner part number: 175-2100-40A I know the tuner is bad, because I used an old tuner subber and it works. I think a transistor or something shorted out. Thanks! |

Be sure its getting its 12V first. The AGC can cause a snowy pix also.
I think the AGC had some lytic failures on the small PCB but its been years........ They built a ton of this chassis. Even if the tuner has a different part # it should work fine. You may only have to re index the selector knob. 73 Zeno |

well.. I didn't think of that, but I assumed the tuner, because when I hooked up one of those old-school tuner subs, it worked great.

I'm the person helping jstout66 working on the set. Zeno was right! Were not going to need the tuner or get it rebuilt. Yea, it was a small capacitor on the solid state PC board. Just a simple 1 MFD cap. Got it playing right now with a great picture, of course using a converter box.
