trying to help a friend
I have a co-worker who is mildly retarded and needs help finding a needle replacement (whole cartridge?) for a 1959 Westinghouse Stereophonic Model 56 4 speed (16 1/3, 33 1/3, 45 and 78rpm turntable. This is the only info that he gave me. He does not have a computer so I offered to help him. Can anyone help me help him? Thanks, Sharon

Here are a couple of pictures borrowed from that auction site. Maybe that will help someone identify the table.

My parents had a Westinghouse from 1956. The model number will be in that info shown at the lower left corner of the inside of the lid... it should be at least a four or five character model number; ours was 43AC1.

It likely needs more than a needle if it is that old...bad capacitors and bad phono cartridge are common by that age.
Here is a good site for needles http://www.garage-a-records.com/index.php |
