Unhappy Philco 42-355 osc. problems

Hello everyone!
I am working on a Philco 42-355. To make a long story short, I started with the power supply recapping and replacing any resistors not well within tolerance. Everything went well until I got to the LO and mixer section. For some reason I don't seem to have any LO on AM or SW now. I get nothing but noise on either band. This is a very bad sign since my workbench is within 1500 feet of four 100KW SW transmitters and a 50 KW AM. The LO plate voltage is supposed to be 85 volts. I am getting 65 when any bandswitch is pressed and about 95 when one of the preset buttons is pressed. The cathode reads about 44 volts when the presets are pressed and zero when any bandswitch is engaged. The pushbutton switches in this radio are confusing me. They are shown with all switches out, according to the schematic. Does anyone know which direction these things move when they are engaged? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
