Hey guys,
Thought I would ask. Thanks all. Last edited by Outland; 10-12-2012 at 04:14 AM. |

My Samsung does this. I think it's just capacitors. But I'm sure someone will tell me no, it's the CRT.

It probably is capacitors. Most likely in the video circuit. Does it still do it with the color turned all the way down? If so, check caps and resistors in the chroma.

I have definitely seen similar problems when a CRT is bad, but you would also see other obvious signs of a weak CRT: Dim picture and/or poor color when the set is first turned on, etc.

I don't know if it's the CRT.

Turning down the color doesn't affect the streaks.

I'm sure this is a capacitor issue and not a CRT issue.. To be honest, it could even be a bad ground and bad source AV equipment. I had a cheap modulator do this.
