The end... Sorry about all this clutter, but now all my previous posts in this thread have their pictures back in action. With them hosted here on this site, I suspect they will stay in place for a long time.

Much appreciated Tom. Now I need to go through this thread very carefully.

Went through this thread carefully and picked up on some things that will help with my restoration. Many thanks Tom.

FYI to 621 and 630 lovers. I have a NOS detent kit (RCA #71463), if the tuner detent is bad. $30 ppd

Tom,
What did you do for the safety caps. I know one goes from the "neutral" to ground. Did you put the other one downstream of the on-off switch? If so, how did you do it. Looking for ideas. Thanks. Last edited by Crist Rigott; 03-02-2017 at 05:54 PM. |

Tom,
I figured out a decent way to install a safety cap after the on-off switch and before the transformer. All is well. |

Hi Crist,
I'd have to open mine up to see what I did, but most likely I simply replaced the existing line bypass cap(s) with safety caps and wired them the same as the originals. |

I like the fact that you DIDN'T restore the cabinet.
